Map of the Week

On the first 3 days there is no easy parking and for those without bikes you’ll need to catch the bus.

Bus allocations are here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VP0hZH3EWy7AEQIl6ffpnxKMJ3HthasckRyWwn2fX9U/edit?usp=sharing

We are not allocating individual start times. The bus allocations should spread people out fairly evenly. If you are cycling to the events you can turn up and run whenever within the start windows, including Day 4.

For those driving to Day 4, Start Group allocations are here:

Pre Info

Sunday 20nd to Friday 25th July 2025

After the success of the last 4 Coast and Island events, we’re back for 2025. This time we are heading very far north, as far as you can go in the UK – to the Shetland Islands. A truly unique place with rugged terrain, golden beaches and turquoise seas.

The areas we’ve lined up are amazing – Shetland is very runnable (even more so than Harris) – mostly short crop heather with occasional bare rock and boulders. No trees at all this year, just rolling hills and great sea views with unique coastlines, lots of views of islands.

Our focus is on finding great areas and planning interesting courses. The organisation will be low key due to the location, number of people we can accommodate and to keep costs reasonable.

Program

Terrain

Most of the areas comprise short crop heather with occasional boulders. We describe runnability as very good, and expect the fastest M21s to run around 5:30 – 6 mins/km straight line.

The sprint in Lerwick will be a top quality area with lots of intricate alleyways and steep slopes (like a mini Edinburgh).
